Fr. Francesco Langi was born in Vieste (FG) on July 31st 1965. He was fascinated very soon by the Poor Man of Assisi and so, in 1975, he got closer to the Friars Minor Capuchins. With the desire to discover more and more the franciscan charism he began, on September 10th 1985, his noviciate in the friary of Arienzo (CE). On September 13th 1986 he took his simple vows and started his studies in Campobasso (philosophy) and then in the friary of Bari (theology).
On November 25th 1989 he received the minor orders and promised, in the hands of the provincial minister, fr Rufino Megliola, to live in obedience, without property and in chastity for the rest of his life, in order of the rules of the Order of the Capuchin Friars Minor.
He was ordained priest in the basilica co-cathedral of Vieste on November 29th 1997 and was called to begin his ministry in the friary of Cerignola, first as parish collaborator and then as guardian and parish.
In 2005 he was called by his superiors to teach the postnovices in Campobasso. During the Provincial Chapter of the Friars Minor Capuchins of the religious province of Sant'Angelo and Padre Pio, in 2007, he became Third Definor and then, in 2010, Vicar-Provincial.
Since September 2013 he is the new guardian of the friary of San Giovanni Rotondo.
